“There is no objective story of meat.” — Jonathan Safran Foer
Carnivore: Eating and Being Eaten is an ongoing, multidisciplinary exploration of meat consumption and our complicated relationship with animal bodies.
Through sculpture, found objects, photography, painting, textiles and installation, the works move between appetite and discomfort, domesticity and slaughter, human consumption and the natural cycle of eating and being eaten. Using materials such as bone, fur, feathers, wool, wood, fabric and silicone, Carnivore brings what is usually absent from the dining table into physical proximity, leaving the morality of consumption open for the viewer to confront.
