Ordnung! Teil II
At the Wasserspeicher, a Part 2 of the series ‘Ordnung!’ was presented during Kiezsalon weekend on 24-26.07.2025
Ordnung! is an ongoing series focused on the recovery and recontextualisation of discarded remnants from Germany’s 20th-century past. Found objects—military debris, domestic utensils, fragments of personal and institutional life—are unearthed, cleaned, and assembled into sculptural forms. The work reflects on systems of control, the aestheticisation of discipline. Through the act of reconstruction, the series invites a confrontation with the persistent traces of ideology embedded in the seemingly ordinary.
Part II of the series (Sep.-Oct. 2018) consists of a compact cube assembled from broken German army crockery, collected in the forests of northern Brandenburg. The clean geometry of the reconstructed cube presents an image of restored order. Meanwhile, the source materials speak to the regime’s deeper machinery: the imposition of order as a justification for exclusion, violence, and control.
