Part VI

Sept. 2020 | 90x160cm
Hand-sewn wollen tapestry with ammunition and daily use objects.

This bottle of hair gel was among the other decomposing objects in the earth, like shuttered schnapps glasses, shoes and horse reins, meters away from the bullet shells. The label reads “N 4711 Portugal Haargel”, produced by one of the oldest Perfumeries making the original Eau de Cologne.

The first Portugal hair tonic with fat was first produced in 1916. The bottles had then metal caps. The Cologne Portugal hair oil with the plastic screw cap, according to the old price lists, came on the market only in 1949. How it ended up in the same pile of trash is a mystery.

Inside the bottle, there are residues of the hair gel, which still have a strong scent.
